Gold XPhone Or Pink CECT I9? How Do These iPhone Clones That Come in Different Colors Compare?

By Rae Edwards

Yesterday, I had someone approach me that asked about the "pink iPhone clone."  First, I thought the person was talking about a skin or custom cover that was pink in color and designed for a knock off.  Then, when she assured me that she was not talking about a skin, I figured that she meant the Xphone, as this newer iPhone clone comes in many custom colors like red, gold, blue, and silver.  But, she persisted that she was actually talking about a pink CECT i9. So, of course, I had to investigate and I found out that she was indeed right.  There are a few sellers who have come up with a way to customize plates on the i9 to make the phone any color you can imagine (pink is very popular). There is even a gay pride model that comes in a rainbow of colors.

But, this is very different than the XPhone, which comes standard with the colors I’ve already listed (as well as black if this is what you want).  So, as I can now see that people may confuse these two phones, I’ll go over their differences (and similarities) in this article.

Tri band Versus Quad Band: The XPhone is a tri band and the i9 is a quad band.  Both will usually work for most GSM carriers, but if you are on the 850MHz band, you’ll most likely  need a quad band. You can check with your carrier to be sure.

Similarity In Features, (Including Shake Control And Dual Sim): These phones are both very similar to one another, since they are both iPhone clones that has all of the features we’ve come to expect from these knock offs (Bluetooth, Internet, MP3 / MP4, radio, handwriting recognition, camera / web cam, etc.)  And, both have the very popular novelty feature called "shake and tilt" or "swing to the music" that allows you to forward songs, music and video by shaking the phone. This also means that you can tilt the phone to move the image from portrait to wide screen.

Also, both phones have two sim slots which allows for two numbers or networks.  This is probably the most popular feature on most clones. The difference here is that the CECT i9 has dual sim active whereas the X has dual sim standby.  This means that the i9 allows both cards to be online at once, while you have to switch back and forth between the two with the X model.  (Most people don’t find this to be a big deal though.)

Java Support On The i Model: Probably the feature that makes the i9 so popular is the fact that it is one of the few models that supports Java.  This means that you can download third party games, applications and software via Java 2.0.  Many people take advantage of the gaming this offers, but many also use it for Microsoft productivity software like Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

The XPhone does not have this feature, so if this is a deal breaker for you, but you still want a color other than black, you may be better off with the specialty color option on the i9.

Price: The price on both of these phones is very similar and is usually not a deal breaker either way.  Depending on how much memory the phones have, you’ll likely pay somewhere in the $100 - $150 range.

Hard Drive Destruction - Increase Your Revenues With a Hard Drive Destroyer

Getting rid of an old computer is no picnic. With the advancing rate of technology, most computers over a few years old are practically worthless…Worthless that is, except to cyber criminals.

As most people know, computers don’t delete data that is put in the ‘trash bin’ on the desktop. Instead it sits on the computer, and can be recovered at a later point by someone who knows how. What most people don’t know is that many types of hard drive wiping are not really effective or practical.

Let’s look at current ‘data shredding’ techniques and technologies:

1. Just sending files to the trash on your computer doesn’t erase anything!

2. Overwriting binary data with data shredding software takes hours and hours, and is still unreliable

3. Reformatting a hard drive means having the drive installed and powered up which is a big hassle

4. Degaussing (a form of magnetic hard drive destruction) doesn’t allow any form of visible proof, you just have to trust that it worked (unless you want to install and power up the hard drive again!

5. Degaussers don’t always work. The magnetic shielding on new disk drives is powerful and the degaussers required to affect these drives can be harmful to people near the magnetic field.

6. Standard hard drive shredding machines which grind up the drive are stationary, bulky, and prone to ‘jamming’.

That is why it is important to use a hard drive destroyer, and that is why there is a lot of opportunity in the hard drive destruction business.

So who can get into this business? Anyone, really…As long as you are willing to get the right equipment. Businesses that already have customers may find hard drive destruction to be a valuable add-on to their business.

A good hard drive destroyer may cost over $5,000, but with the amount of hard drives in circulation, it is easy to see that they will be needed. At anywhere from $3-$15 per hard drive destroyed and millions of old hard drives in need of a good smash up, an investment in a hard drive destroyer can pay for itself quickly

Here are a few businesses which could use a portable hard drive destroyer:

1. A junkyard - By simply information people getting rid of computers of the risks, it is an easy sale.

2. Used computer shops - I can’t count the number of times I have tried to sell old computer equipment only to be disappointed and told it is practically worthless. This is the perfect time to tell the customer "Yeah…I’ll destroy the hard drive for $10!"

3. New computer shops - Might offer this services as an incentive such as for example "We’ll transfer the data from your old computer, and destroy your old hard drive in front of your eyes for only $199.95."

4. Document shredding businesses - Paper shredding service providers already help companies and organizations of all types destroy paper based data…Why not put a portable hard drive destroyer on the truck and make some more money.

5. And many more!

Some companies may have dozens or even hundreds of hard drives they need destroyed and will pay good money for you to simply press the button on the machine.

The opportunities are huge…Imagine how many millions of old computers are sitting around today, and how much personal electronic information like credit card numbers, private pictures, and personal emails are sitting on there, in need of a reliable destruction method.
